At least two weeks before starting treatment, your oral diet may be checked by your doctor or dietitian and adjusted to prepare you for a possible reduction in parenteral nutrition (PN) use. The food you may be asked to eat should not be difficult to find. Let your doctor or dietitian know which foods you like or dislike and they may try to include your preferences.
Good proteins for you to eat may include chicken, fish and turkey. Good fats may include soybean or safflower oil. Beverages rich in carbohydrate and sodium may be preferred.
